and commissions super critical pressure boilers used in coal-fired power generation plants. These special for the Indian market build boilers (capacities between 500 and 1,000 MW) accommodate the rapid growing demand for electricity inIndia.
Project
For the production of the super critical pressure boilers, L & T MHI Boilers recently ordered a Schiess Vertimaster VMG 7 machining centre for the milling and turning of large parts. This special, 4 axes gantry portal machine consists of a turning table (diameter 8,000 mm), a CNC gantry portal turning/milling machine, tool and attach-
ment changer, external and internal coolant device, chip conveyors, master-head system, pallet changing systems, quality casted machine frame and hydrostatic
rotary & linear guides.

Doedijns products
The power pack of the Vertimaster machining centre is fitted by Doedijns with
RMF systems and an electric control box. For many years Doedijns Hydraulics’ own product line RMF Systems is a well-known term in the field of oil management.
RMF By-pass and Off-line filter systems, vacuum dehydration units, ‘Air conditio-
ners’ (desiccant breathers) and condition monitoring systems are applied world-wide
in a huge range of hydraulic applications.
The linear movement, tool and attachment changer, pallet changing system and hydrostatic bearings of the Vertimaster machining centre are all hydraulically operated. The hydraulics is therefore a vital part of the complete machine. To guarantee proper functioning of the hydraulics, a RMF Off-line filter system with integrated Condition Monitoring System (CMS) is fitted. The CMS system automatically measures and displays particulate contamination, moisture and temperature levels in various hydraulic fluids. It is designed specifically to be mounted directly to systems where ongoing measurement or analysis are required and space & costs are limited.
